More than 150 years of history

Over the years, FIX has always been at the forefront of all the latest fashions, trends and movements. Many famous people from different eras have appeared happily drinking this favorite beverage and countless high-profile events have been associated with the FIX name.

There have been countless labels (including many award winners), all kinds of posters, thematic advertisements, product promotions in beloved films, among other initiatives. Greek consumers have etched on their memories all those images of carefree groups of people raising bottles and glasses with the FIX logo always in the name of fun and celebration!

Large scale investment results in the creation of an ultra-modern brewery in the area of Ritsona, Evia. The historic FIX Hellas is once again available on the Greek market. With the initial bottling in March, the great FIX revival is well underway by the beginning of April! Public enthusiasm surpasses even the boldest predictions, with the OLYMPIC BREWERY only able to meet 20% of the total demand!

The brand new factory in Sygrou Avenue becomes a marvel of the times, truly cutting-edge both in terms of machinery and design. Passers-by can view beer production in action with see-through glass walls.

The dominance of FIX continues and Takis Zenetos, the wunderkind of contemporary architecture, is commissioned with the renovation and extension of the factory in Syngrou Avenue.

Karolos Fix dies, leaving the factory to his two sons, Yiannis and Antonis, who have been working with him since childhood. The two brothers work diligently to expand the enterprise even more, creating a malting plant so that the beer can be made from Greek barley and huge refrigerating facilities for the preservation of the surplus barley crop. FIX becomes truly synonymous with beer in Greece, prominent in the sphere of advertising and staple refreshment in homes and social gatherings across the country.

Karolos Fix is informed that the production of mechanical refrigeration is beginning in Europe. Without delay, he gathers all his savings and equips his little factory with refrigerating machines, marking the official introduction of artificial ice to Greece.

FIX beer wins the “Golden Award” in the Milan exhibition, turning on the tap for a succession of awards in international exhibitions and competitions.

With rising demand and limited brewery space, Ioannis Fix, decides to move home and  premises to Syngrou Avenue, which was considered a country lane at that time. His customers follow him on the strength of his growing reputation for producing consistently excellent beer. His eldest son, Karolos, starts to play an active part in the enterprise, which is growing daily and soon develops into a steam powered factory equipped with state-of-the-art brewing apparatus.

Fix opens his first large pub on the slopes of Ardittos Hill.  It is named after the French city of Metz, where a famous battle took place during the Franco-Prussian war. In turn, the Metz gives its name to the surrounding district, which it still goes by to this day.

Due to the increasing appeal of the beer, Ioannis Fix decides to relocate his brewery to Kolonaki, an area much closer to the center of the city. FIX beer wins the Greeks over, becomes something of a fashion and gradually spreads throughout Athens.

While Greece is trying to reconstruct itself after liberation from the Ottoman Empire, Ioannis Fix comes to Athens from Munich to find his father, who is subsequently shot dead in Magufana, the present-day suburb of Pefki. Deciding to stay, then settle in nearby Iraklio, Ioannis begins beer production to cater for the many Bavarian officers. The first beer brewed in the country naturally takes the family name of FIX.
